Dear Debbie by Frieda McFadden
I have become quite obsessed with Frieda McFadden and am working my way through all of her books. But I am calling it - this is one of her best. Cue a brilliant suburban housewife who runs an advice column - with a dark side. At the same time, her husband is keeping a secret. But what is it? And why are Debbie's teenage girls behaving so strangely? This book has twists and turns at every corner - loved it!
The School Run by Ali Lowe
This book has holiday read written all over it. School Mums eager to get their boys into an elite boys high school, there's gossip, drama, scandal, friendships tested - what more do you want from a book! I really hope this is turned into a movie because it would be fantastic. This book gives me "Big Little Lies" vibes but with an Australian twist.
The Dilemma by BA Paris
I couldn't stop thinking about this book for weeks after I read it. Rarely does a book stay with me for so long as I often just move onto the next one. A husband and wife are keeping secrets from each other. This story is about loyalty, relationships, communication and so much more. On the night of the wife's 40th birthday, you will learn just how far a husband and wife will go to keep their secrets from each other. Jaw dropping. Read it.
Don't let him in by Lisa Jewell
Is this man as perfect as he seems? Unlikely. This is the story of two women, one man and a web of lies. A page turner from start to finish. I don't want to give too much away on this one so just get on it and read it!
Emma in the night by Wendy Walker
I stumbled across this book by accident and it was brilliant! This is the story of two missing sisters and a very twisted family. Three years ago, a 15 year old called Cass and 17 year old called Emma, go missing. Three years later, Cass returns and tells a story of kidnapping and betrayal. In comes a forensic psychiatrist who tries to unpack what Cass is saying as it doesn't add up. An incredible story of a dysfunctional family and a crime untold.
What books are you reading, Wellspringers? I'm always up for a recommendation so please share your tips with me.
Till next time, Wellspringers,
